Nice example with an original steel Japanese combat helmet shell with original olive drab paint finish over an original Navy "grey" paint first layer finish. C557-22. Imperial Japanese (?) "Hard-Pressed" Paper Helmet with Liner and Chinstrap. This is an interesting "unidentified" helmet that appears identical to the steel Japanese Army combat helmet, except it is constructed of "hard-pressed" paper with an olive drab paint finish. The front features a metal Army star emblem attached by two prongs. The inside liner is an OD green leatherette cloth with green cloth chinstrap. The consignor states that he hasn't found out why "they (this paper helmet) were made or for what purpose."...$175.

C559-22. "Hollywood Prop" Japanese Helmet for War-Time Movies (?). The consignor states that he bought this helmet at a military shop in a Denver suburb in 1990, and that he believes it is a Hollywood-made helmet used for war-time movies during WWII. The helmet has an olive-drab paint finish on a thinner steel shell with OD green cloth full liner and web cloth chinstrap. There is an old WWII-vintage "Los Angeles Examiner" newspaper stuffed inside the helmet liner...$125.
